STORE Capital Hosts 2020 Virtual Externship Program

STORE Capital recently held its first-ever Virtual Externship Program for students and professionally advancing individuals, a unique career development opportunity for those who had summer internships canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The two-day program, designed for individuals interested in finance and real estate, provided participants with an opportunity to learn from the company’s subject matter experts.

The Virtual Externship Program was open to all college students, and particularly emphasized the company’s diversity and inclusion efforts by encouraging the participation of students from underrepresented backgrounds. The program was conceived, developed, and presented by STORE Capital employees from several of the company’s departments and areas of expertise, many of whom had positive college internship experiences in their initial professional development.

A total of 124 participants from 54 colleges, 22 states, and 5 countries participated in the event, in addition to more than 20 STORE Capital employees who participated as moderators, presenters, and panelists. The presentation focused on real estate transaction processes ranging from acquisitions to dispositions. Panel discussions emphasized relevant topics such as Women in Finance and Diversity in the Workplace, Real Estate Finance: Past, Present, and Future, and a Wealth Creation Seminar presentation from Chris Volk, CEO of STORE Capital.

STORE Capital’s Virtual Externship Program, along with the ongoing STORE Capital College Internship Program, are key components of the company’s commitment to career development, diversity, and inclusion.

STORE Capital’s College Internship Program is open to all college students across all majors and backgrounds. Motivated applicants who are interested in learning about business and who possess strong writing and critical thinking skills are encouraged to apply. Company offices are based in Scottsdale, AZ and our employees come from all over and have very diverse academic backgrounds.
