THE 2023 STORE CAPITAL SUMMER INTERNSHIP

Over the past 12 weeks, STORE Capital’s summer internship program hosted 9 interns in various departments including Acquisitions, Data Analytics, Marketing, Portfolio Management, and Underwriting. STORE’s Internship Program mission is to cultivate and nurture the leaders of tomorrow by providing mentorship, training, and real-world experience and exposure within the finance and real estate sector. STORE Capital believes in engaging fresh perspectives, expanding our diverse workforce, and empowering future leaders. The summer interns joined us from several schools including Arizona State University, Cornell, Ithaca College, Texas Christian University and Vanderbilt.

To celebrate the end of a great internship cycle, STORE Capital invited summer interns to the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game. The summer interns, their mentors, and members of the executive leadership team were able to experience the game in a suite above home plate at Chase Field!

Despite the Diamondbacks falling just short of victory, the game was truly enjoyable, ensuring everyone had a fantastic time. STORE Capital Intern, William Freiheit, described the game as “An excellent capstone to a successful summer internship cycle. Being able to speak with STORE executives, mentors, and fellow interns across departments is indicative of STORE’s flat hierarchy and the collaborative culture we will all find difficult to leave behind once the internship ends.”

At the end of each internship cycle, exit interviews are conducted so we can learn more about our successes and challenges and improve our program for the future. STORE interns noted the following as highlights of their internship experience: gaining real world and professional experience, being responsible for meaningful work, contributing to the deal process in different ways, having direct interaction with their mentors, expanding knowledge in their respective departments, and getting to know and work with other interns. Additionally, the interns liked learning how to use AI in a business setting, understanding how global events influence real estate and financial services, and being encouraged to step outside of their comfort zone to increase their professional knowledge and skills.

The exciting baseball game served as a great way to express gratitude for the interns’ diligent efforts all summer and STORE Capital commends the hard work and dedication that they have put into the company!
