Known throughout the industry for her business acumen and solutions-oriented charisma, Mary Fedewa currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of STORE Capital.
Mary co-founded STORE Capital in 2011, has served as a member of its Board of Directors since 2016, and was named Chief Operating Officer in 2017. She was appointed President in September 2020 and ascended to Chief Executive Officer in April 2021.
As President and Chief Executive Officer, Mary reached a career milestone in February 2023 by leading the privatization of STORE Capital. GIC, a global institutional investor, in partnership with funds managed by Blue Owl, successfully completed the acquisition of all outstanding shares of common stock of STORE Capital in an all-cash transaction valued at ~$15 billion, the second largest transaction in the history of Arizona and one of the largest M&A transactions completed in the U.S.
Mary initially formed STORE Capital’s acquisitions team, giving the company a strong strategic edge and driving increased demand for efficient net-lease capital solutions among both middle market and larger businesses. Her leadership has been central to the expansion of the company’s portfolio and oversight of all operational areas. Mary’s deep industry expertise, passion, and organizational skills are essential to STORE Capital’s ongoing success.
Prior to co-founding STORE Capital, Mary spent several years investing as a principal in single-tenant commercial real estate for private real estate companies. From 2004 to 2007, she was a Managing Director of Acquisitions at Spirit Finance Corporation, where she originated a significant volume of net lease transactions in a wide range of industries across the United States.
Mary also held a variety of positions within GE Capital, concluding as a Senior Vice President within the Consumer Finance Division. Throughout her GE Capital tenure, she held leadership positions within Mortgage Insurance, Private Label Financing, and Commercial Finance, and served as a GE Quality Leader.
Mary’s Six Sigma Black Belt certification – a business standard of excellence from her GE Capital days – continues to convey her mastery of techniques and tools focused on achieving sustained quality improvement, management leadership, and measurable financial returns.
