Sebastian Smith - Managing Director   Western Region

Sebastian provides long-term tailored solutions to customers headquartered in the Western Region of the U.S. He has a passion for building relationships with growing middle-market and larger businesses.

 

Sebastian joined STORE Capital’s acquisitions team in 2016, working with real estate brokers nationwide to source acquisitions that meet STORE Capital’s investment criteria. Less than a year later, he transitioned to his current position as a Managing Director working directly with our customers.

Prior to STORE, Sebastian worked at Noble Properties where he executed over $120 million in single-tenant acquisitions nationwide. He has over 7 years of transactional experience working in investment sales and leasing. Sebastian’s diverse commercial real estate experience provides him with a strong understanding of the industry from both an investment and operational perspective.

 

Sebastian graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Business Marketing.

Tyler Maertz - Team Lead & Managing Director   Southern Region

Tyler is known for his ability to be responsive and creative that, coupled with his extensive experience, makes him excellent at building long-term customized relationships and financial solutions for our customers. Overseeing the company’s Southern Region, Tyler Maertz joined STORE Capital in June 2011, shortly after the company’s inception.

 

Tyler was with GE Capital for 11 years prior to joining STORE Capital. Working his way up in roles of increasing responsibility and varying functional capacities, he was a member of the sales team at GE Franchise Finance, actively managing the customer relationships for 10 restaurant brands and a portfolio of assets approaching $1 billion. During this period, Tyler closed $600 million of transactions, including direct originations, syndications, restructurings and modifications.

Prior to that, he led the Financial Planning & Analysis group at GE Franchise Finance. He graduated with honors from GE’s Financial Management Program, a renowned leadership training program.

 

Tyler attended the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance & Accounting. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Raymond P. Kent award, given to the Finance Major with the highest grade point average in finance courses.

 

He also earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business. Tyler is a CFA® charterholder.

Josh Bowman - Managing Director

Josh has been immersed in the commercial real estate investment, brokerage and development industries since 2011. His proficiency and acumen ensure certainty of execution for all transactions that meet STORE Capital’s investment criteria.

 

Josh joined STORE Capital in January 2013 as a member of the underwriting team, where he assessed real estate valuation on a large pipeline of potential real estate acquisitions. He was promoted to Managing Director of Acquisitions in February 2015, working with real estate brokers across the U.S. In June 2017, Josh transitioned to working directly with customers, covering the Southern Region with team lead, Tyler Maertz.

Prior to STORE, Josh was a research analyst with CBRE in Phoenix, where he provided property and market research to an office of retail, land and multifamily professionals. During Josh’s tenure at CBRE, he was responsible for performing quarterly research on 1,100+ properties in metro Phoenix, leading to a quarterly Phoenix market research report.

 

Josh graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, where he was also a member of Barrett, The Honors College. His current and past professional affiliations include the International Council of Shopping Centers, Economic Club of Phoenix and the Urban Land Institute.

Nicholas Eggert - Team Lead & Managing Director   Mid-Atlantic / Midwest Region

Nick’s experience and tenacity provide our customers with the most efficient capital solutions available to meet their needs. He joined STORE Capital in July 2011, shortly after the company’s inception and currently oversees the Mid-Atlantic / Midwest Region.

 

Prior to joining STORE Capital, Nick worked at Colliers International as an investment advisor supporting brokers working with banks, finance companies, investor groups and other holders of single-tenant assets and portfolios. His leadership at Colliers resulted in the origination and execution of more than $350 million in transactions, earning him several awards and accolades, including Co-Star Power Broker and #1 Producing Team in 2009 and 2010.

Prior to Colliers, Nick provided underwriting and structuring expertise with Trefethen & Company/Trefethen Capital Partners, a privately owned, independent investment banking firm focused on providing advice and transaction execution to middle market companies, investors and financial institutions. He started his career as a member of the Retail Investment Group at Grubb & Ellis│BRE Commercial.

 

Nick is a University of Arizona graduate who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

Kris Sanderson - Managing Director

Kris is known for her relational approach to driving high value outcomes for her clients through her ability to source creative solutions. Her drive, broad experiences, and understanding of tenant needs provides a cornerstone upon which she builds long-term customized relationships. Kris is adept at providing financial solutions to our customers designed to improve operating margins and increase wealth for our clients. Kris Sanderson joined STORE Capital in February 2017, and is a key part of Nick Eggert’s team.

 

Kris brings to STORE Capital a wealth of experience as a commercial real estate developer. She was with Crosland Southeast for 2 years prior to joining STORE Capital where she led a team dedicated to developing single tenant projects, actively managing multiple customer relationships, market expansion strategies and development projects. Prior to Crosland Southeast, Kris spent 8 years at McNeel Properties, LLC where she worked her way up in roles of increasing responsibility and varying functional capacities ultimately becoming a partner in 2012.

During her tenure at McNeel Properties, she actively managed over 34 teams resulting in the delivery of over 175,000 square feet of space in eleven states and the creation of over $120 million in market value.

 

Prior to McNeel Properties, LLC, Kris spent several years leading teams in the origination of over $200 million in residential mortgage loans both as a correspondent lender with Homeowners Mortgage Services and as a direct lender with Bank of America and smaller boutique mortgage companies.

 

Kris earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Texas A&M University.

Mark E. Wood - Managing Director   Northeast Region

Mark worked with STORE Capital’s leadership for nearly two decades before joining the company in 2011. Mark currently oversees the Northeast Region and provides customers with tailored real estate financing solutions enabling them to transform their companies.

 

With a financial services career that spans 20 years, Mark’s career highlights include serving as a Senior Vice President with Bank of America/Merrill Lynch in the Commercial Middle Market group, where he managed a portfolio with aggregate commercial and treasury commitments in excess of $800 million.

 

Prior to Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, he was a Vice President in Structured Finance for GE Capital from 2001 to 2008. A top producer, Mark achieved membership in GE’s President’s Club and specialized in large cap customers, syndications and mergers and acquisitions. From 1993 to 2001, he was a Vice President with Franchise Finance Corporation of America and was involved in more than $1 billion in financings in the restaurant, convenience store and automotive aftermarket industries.

 

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Brigham Young University.
